House
Remodeling
As you may know, we are in the process of remodeling the house. The job will include closing in the old garage to make a formal living room and adding a new garage that can comfortably hold both cars. The Porsche has sat out in the weather and under the pecan trees too long. In addition we are adding a New Orleans style courtyard in the back. There will be two pools or fountains here. On one end will be a small pool that will hold a bronze heron as the centerpiece. On another wall will be the wall fountain of Bacchus that I am carving. We are also adding a small entrance patio in the front of the house. As things come together, I will add pictures to show the progress. I am building the steps that go down into the new room. They are modeled after Michelanglo's steps in the Biblioteca Mediceo-Laurenziana. However, I plan only 3 steps. I have also designed the wrought iron gate for the breezeway entrance to the courtyard and will build the garden gate out to the shop.
