Stone Sculpture

I am in the process of carving my first stone sculpture. It will be a wall fountain of a Bacchus for the new courtyard we are constructing. The sculpture is in Indiana limestone and the face is about twice life size. As you may see, the face looks a lot like me. As I tell people, I work cheap as a model. The project has been very interesting, and I'm getting the hang of carving the stone. With the proper tools, it's not too difficult. The statue you see above is about 90% complete. When this is finished, I'll start on a much more ambitious project. Please check back from time to time to see the progress on this and other projects
