Clown #1 – Painted for the young son of a friend.  His sister grew up frightened of clowns

Saudi Train  The train from Dammam to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  It always kicked up a trail of dust.

 


The next four pictures are the illustrations for a children’s book called “Afton” The story was inspired by a trip to England’s Lake District..  Afton, an elf, lives beside Lake Buttermere.


Gamecocks -  My son attended South Carolina, home of the “Fighting Gamecocks


This chimney was inspired by one located on the River Road in south Louisiana.


A gosling is in danger from a pike in the lake.


Afton rescues the gosling and will be rewarded with his dream of a lifetime.

Half-way House
This building is located halfway between Dhahran Saudi Arabia and Abqaiq.  It was an old police checkpoint and was the only building in the forty mile stretch of desert. Because it was such a landmark to us, I painted it after it was abandoned.
