We had a great short vacation on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands in Washington state. We stayed at a bed and breakfast, called Spring Bay Inn. The inn is owned and operated by Sandy and Carl who are two ex-park rangers. They are a delightful couple who alternated taking kayak tours of the surrounding waters. We saw eagles, otters and harbor seals as well as a huge amount of sea birds. Sandy is a naturalist and would give a running lecture on the tour. The Inn is located on the end of one of the legs of Orcas Island and defines the word peaceful.
